Randomness

I found these cute garden shoes at JoAnns today. I couldn't pass them up at 50 % off. I am a gardener wannabe. One of these days I'll show you beautiful flower photos like some of your blogs. But for now, I'm potting my rosemary plant. I think I'll wear my clogs just to pretend I'm planting a garden full of flowers. Here are the promised afters of my window seat in my bedroom. You've seen me working on the pillows. I have half on one side and half on the other.Pillows made of old chenille, linens and a quilt cutter,
Here are my hankies. They cover the cheapo curtain rod, I had to use one of those rods that curves at the ends, to fit it next to the wall.
I'm also up to my ears in wool. I haven't discussed this with you.
I am a woolaholic. There I said it. My obsession began with a rug hooking class years ago, and I started buying , tearing up, washing and felting old wool clothes. Than it continued on to felting wool sweaters. Now that we've downsized, somethings gotta give.
So I'm making up more pillows out of beautiful wool and felted sweaters that are the most luscious colors. Add a little hand sewing and here you go. I'll be adding these to the shop soon.
The thing about wool is working with it, you feel the lanolin in it. That's why dogs love it too. Anyway, I've gone on enough. Hope you have a wonderful Day!
Leslie

  3. Your gardening shoes are just delightful. I haven't been to JoAnn's in ages. Now that I have a walking cast, I need to hit some shops!! My husband has the green thumb at our house. I just pretend and enjoy mowing the lawn in my gardening boots.

Your pillows are just lovely and your wool obsession is justified. There could be worse habits (smile).

  5. Window seat is co cute. I admire your wool pillows and am a little jealous. As a child I was alergic to wool so never wore it. They I got excited about felting, when to thrift store and bought wool clothing. I then felted it and when I started working with it, the itching began. So now that lovely felted wool sits in a box in the garage.

  6. I'm so glad you are enjoying the studio as we make it. I hope you do make an ironing table, it has been sooooo helpful when ironing larger things. I used to get so frustrated! Thanks for the very nice comment.

  7. Hi Leslie!

Your window seat and pillows are so darling! That's one thing that I've dreamed of my whole life, a window seat - as my mom would say, maybe one day my ship will come in. :)

You lucky! I wish I could find some wool to felt and craft with! Like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack in Southern California. WAH.

Oh! I wanted to tell you something fun - I found a vintage family photo and I couldn't for the life of me find even one clue who it could be in my grandmother's papers.

Well I went onto ancestry.com and noticed that there were a bunch of people researching one of my ancestors ... well, the photo turned out to be of the ancestor we share in common, someone had it posted in their family tree. I gasped out loud and giggled when I saw it. WAHOO!

Now if only some of my other mysteries could be solved like that!

    Happy week to you,

    Sally
