We've been busy around here as usual. Watching the Olympics. Getting loose ends tied up.
Paperwork and phone calls. Why is it that we spend so much time on making calls and businesses don't even have the courtesy to return our calls? I won't go on and on about this-just one of my pet peeves. These flowers are from when my Aunt was here-they are still pretty. The 57 Chevy convertable was a thrift store find.
I've got something new in the works, which involves more wool. I'm pretending it's fall and not 105 degrees outside. Hmmmm- not really working.
I'm into mushrooms lately. I got this idea from Kim K. at Musings From Kim K.via Let's Go Fly a Kite.Thrift store wood, spray paint and a few dots.
Viola! This will go into our little garden. I promise a pic of it soon.I'm be on the lookout for more wooden bowls.
Well, how's that for a bunch of randomness? I guess that's what happens to your brain when it's subjected to high heat.Back to the phones and sewing machine. Hope it's cooler where you're at. I can't believe it's going to be August already! Have a great week.

Hi Leslie!
ReplyDeleteLove your chevy, so cute and can't believe your flowers have lasted all this time, that's so great. A sweet reminder of your Aunties visit.
Oh! I love toadstools and 'shrooms and gnomes - can't wait to see what you're up to! And I loved Kim's outdoor mushrooms too and want to make some - so fun to see yours.
Happy happy crafting!
Oh you lucky girl! You got my car! Well, mine isn't a convertible but it IS a 57! Cute bowl and the perfect shape for a mushroom! I think they look so cute all over Kim's back yard!
ReplyDeleteLOve the fun car!! Too cute! Stay cool, and happy sewing!! Love the mushroom! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteDarling container for your daisies. Love your special toadstool. They can be rather addictive. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteLeslie,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the 57 Chevy planter. I have always dreamed of a 57 Chevy convertible, pink of course. Or something close to that, just a big ol' Barbie style convertible. I would also settle for light blue and white!!!
Thanks so much for visiting and leaving the nice comment. I get the feeling you also love fall. I enjoy summer, but there is something about fall! I'm glad you got to go to the fair, why don't you enter something this time, or next time if it is too late? It's fun. I just get excited thinking about it.
Mom had another fall and was in the hospital and now nursing home so it's been so crazy, sorry it took so long for me to send you this!
Hugs,
Julie
Good Wednesday Morning, Leslie!
ReplyDeleteHow I love all your RED pretties! Your 57 Chevy is adorable with it's back seat all filled up with daisies! And, oh, that bright RED mushroom! It is absolutely darling!
I'm so glad you popped in for a visit and left your thoughtful comment, my sweet friend!
Have a happy day!
Blessings,
Carolynn :)
Thank you so much Leslie, I appreciate it. And by the way, I just looked at your sewing room pics. LOVE IT!!!! There is just something about mixing vintage in with creating things that makes it magical . . . enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteMore hugs,
Julie
Hi Leslie!
ReplyDeleteWell from the very get-go this morning, today has been an AWFUL NO GOOD TERRIBLE HORRIBLE day. Sheesh. Lunkhead me forgot to check her Etsy account - I sure thought I had but apparently I had not checked for 27 days!!! I know that NOW because someone bought something 27 days ago and when I checked in this morning, I had a DISPUTE on my account for not shipping her items. WAH!
Talk about throwing your day into high gear. Fired off a million apologetic embarrassed emails to buyer, PayPal and Etsy, refunded money AND mailed her items Priority Mail for FREE. I could crawl under a rock right now. I am Miss Do Everything Right, Miss On Top of Everything and I totally blew it and I can't even stand my own self right now.
sniffle sniffle sniffle
I am so very tired of being overwhelmed and feeling overwhelmed. When do I regain my sanity?!
Anyway --- thanks so much for your comment re the freezer that wouldn't work! Brought a smile in a very bleak day. Did you kick that freezer a few times? ;)
Happy Wednesday! (I think I should go to bed until tomorrow. or eat copious amounts of chocolate!)
Leslie, I wanted to thank you so much for your encouraging words about my Etsy store, "Try it and see if you like it." I have kept these words at the front of my busy thoughts as I prepare for this step. I can't thank you enough for them!
ReplyDeletePS Darn, if I didn't see wooden bowls the other day and not remember why I needed them! I won't forget again! Your mushroom has the cutest shape. Can't wait for more photos. E
I love your mushroom/bowl! Is it going to find a home out in your garden? (Kim always has such cute ideas!)
ReplyDeleteI would have never have thought about turning a wooden bowl into a mushroom! I will never look at a wooden bowl the same again! What a great idea. I am tired of the heat too! Thoughts are of fall and Halloween crafts...
ReplyDeleteI too am tired of poor customer service, especially at the pharmacy. I'm already sick, I don't need the pharmacy to be nasty when I need help with my meds. UGH!
Linda
That mushroom is adorable!! High heat is heading my way for the weekend, so I am hanging out in front of the fan watching the Olympics, with some sewing thrown in! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteLeslie, Hello. I'm new to your blog and I love it. That is just the cutest mushroom ever. What did you use as your base?
