Ghoulish Halloween

It was Son's birthday so he requested his usual chocolate pumpkin cake. It's very moist and has a wonderful cream cheese frosting.
I couldn't let Halloween go by without sharing my ghoulish decor. I know this isn't for everyone-but here at Brookhollow Lane we like a little bit of creepy.

The theme is The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. I did the mantle last year and expanded to the dining room this year.

Most of the stuff is thrifted. I added alot of Dollar Tree crows.

I have been busy with many things, including a trip to visit my Brother in Minneapolis, applying to the DAR-(Daughters of the American Revolution) for any of you genealogists out there and making over our closet which I'll share next time. I have been keeping up with your blogs, just not commenting. You kind of get out of the swing of things. Hoping to get back into it. I missed you guys!

  1. You were practically in my neighborhood (give or take 4 hours) when you were visiting your brother! I've taken a few breaks from blogging myself- it's hard to keep up with everything!

Creepy or not, your house was looking very festive for the birthday bash. And the cake looks delicious, too. Your china cabinet still shines even under all the cobwebs. :)

    Welcome back, Leslie!

  2. Hi Leslie,
Oh, I love all your Halloween decorations!! And, the cake looks quite yummy! Darling milk glasses! Are they vintage? And, they shabby cabinet is so beautiful! Have a lovely autumn week! xo Heather

  3. Love your little bit of creepy Leslie and the special birthday cake looks and sounds delicious!

  6. Happy birthday to your son! Your halloween decor is very fun! I will be interested to hear how your DAR app goes. I've thought about doing that.

  7. Hi Leslie,
