We had a little weekend outing. We drove to Denton, Texas, which is about 30 minutes from our home, and checked out thrift stores and did a few errands and went out to lunch.
The courthouse in the square is pretty spectacular. There are many courthouse squares in Texas-I love to take pictures of them.
This is the old bank-I think it's empty now.

Antique store-this used to be a hardware store-up until about 4 or 5 years ago. It was still owned by the original family!

After all that we had to make a stop at Mr. Frosty for a shake. It's hot out there! Hope you all had a great weekend!

my grandparents lived in denton long ago. thanks for sharing the photos!
ReplyDeleteDenton sure looks like a great town to visit, with great old buildings and vintage charm!
ReplyDeleteThis is funny but my name is Leslie and I live on almost the exact same street name as your blog. That is coincidence enough but I also went to college in Denton. Isn't that strange?! (Love your header, especially the clock.)
ReplyDeleteMy hubby has a Lionelville "Mr. Frosty" plastic store or maybe it is a Plasticville for his train set scenery. The "F" is broken off so we laugh over that..."Mr. rosty". But to tell you the truth I didn't know that there were "Mr. Frosty" stores? I just thought it was a cute name for an ice cream store. That store in Denton looks just like he plastic toy one!
