Organizing and Regrouping

Hubby and I have both been sick since the day before our youngest son left after Christmas. Hubby came down with it first and passed it on to me. A cold that has turned into bronchitis. Hacking cough and sleepless nights. In between all that I've tried to finish my little organizing project while being stuck at home.
I've been working on the dishes in the hutch. A shelf actually fell inside, so I pulled out everything and reorganized.
It's fun to go through stuff that you don't see every day. I got the set above from a garage sale years ago. She was a retired music teacher, so how could I pass those up?
Green glass is from my mom. Love to use these at Christmas for dessert. Okay-so here's the jam packed filing cabinet drawer. I couldn't fit one more piece of paper in there.
I used these 2 products. I absolutely love these 3-d labels. So much easier to see then the flat ones.
The file cabinet is in the office closet, so it's super hard to get a good angle, but take my word for it-I am using about 2/3's of the same drawer. That was about a 3 day project going through each file and getting rid of stuff and redoing my filing categories.
Last post I showed this same bathroom cabinet. I purged and got rid of old and unused stuff. These little drawer shelves fit perfectly under the sinks with the plumbing.
Another bathroom. Everything is labeled and reachable.
Under our kitchen sink-it may not be the most beautiful organizing, but it sure works for me. I used alot of little containers we already had. I tried to label everything and group it. Feeling pretty good-now I'm ready to tackle the kitchen cabinets.
We had a light dusting of snow and you can see, Bowie is not sure he likes it.
Anyway, I'm starting to feel better and can't wait to get back into things.

  1. I love those musical plates . . . they are a treasure.
When you are through organizing your home, you're invited here to help me with mine . . . I'll bake a cake and put on a pot of tea :)

  2. Good for you! You got a lot done. Love the music neat! I'm with Bowie...not sure whether or not I would like that snow either. LOL! It is pretty though! Have a great weekend.

    Hugs, Vicky

  3. I'm so sorry to hear that you and your hubby have been sick. However, you still managed to get a lot done, Leslie. I have some of those same plastic drawers under my bathroom sinks, too. I went though my files, and was trying to shred old paper, but my shredder quit working. Ugh! January must be the month of purging!

  4. Well, it's no fun being sick, but at least you made good use of your time cooped up in the house. Those musical plates are adorable and perfect for you! And the dessert dishes are so pretty with the gold edging. How could a dessert not look elegant served in one of those?! Bowie looks like he feels just as I do when it's cold and wet outside. If only dogs could talk. hehe

I hope you're feeling better and have a wonderful weekend, Leslie!

  5. I admire that you organised your home while sick! I can't even do it when I'm feeling good;)

  6. I hope you feel better soon. My hubby and I always get sick after the holidays. I think it's from being around so many people and children.

I'm working on getting organized, too. So much has to be purged...I just finished my linen closet and now I'm working on my own closet. I'm avoiding the big job---the basement!!

Keep up the good work. And, oh. I LOVE those plates!!

  7. I'm sorry you weren't feeling well. Bronchitis is terrible. I can't wait to see what other projects you can come up with.

  8. Hi Leslie, I sure hope you are feeling better!! WOW you have been really busy and even being sick you accomplished so much. I love all your organizing. Doesn't it feel great to have this done. Take good care and sending well wishes your way. Have a great week.

  9. I am sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well and hope that you are better soon! January right after the holidays seems to be a tough month for everyone. I admire your organization projects. I am not very good at organizing, but did manage to get one closet finished and that feels good. Now if I could get my under the kitchen sink organized, I'll be a happy camper. Give that Bowie a smooch from me.

    Big Texas Hugs,
    Susan and Bentley

    1. Thanks, Susan. I am feeling better finally. Organizing under my kitchen sink made me feel really good. I'll give Bowie a smooch from you-same to Bentley!

  10. Good job on getting all your stuff in storage organized! It must have taken a lot of will and determination to get everything done and while you were under the weather no less! Good to see that the project is over though so now you can really try to get that rest and recover!
