Home is Where the Heart Is

I’ve been busy cleaning house this week. Some of my relatives are going to see our new house for the first time. I’m getting ready for my Brother and his wife to visit from Minnesota and also my Dear Auntie Sylvia. She is flying in from California, stopping here in Dallas to see us, and then flying on to New York for a teacher sorority convention. She goes every year wherever the convention is held. That’s when she’s not in Las Vegas. Or Laughlin or taking care of the cutest California bungalow that’s she’s lived in for over 50 years. When she’ not busy organizing church dinners and singing in the choir or cooking and driving around her little town where her husband was Mayor for a while and then a judge until he passed away. She is the most optimistic person I know and makes everyone around her feel good. She’s interested in all that goes on around her and says she’s thanks God each day when she wakes up in the morning. I could go on and on about my Auntie. Oh- but did I mention the fact that she’s 90 years old (or twice 45) as we like to say? Here she is 2 years ago with my Dad(her brother) before he passed away. I can't wait to see her!

I've got houses on my mind. Here's a few I haven't finished-this is the house on Brookhollow Lane-that we moved from a year ago. It's made from recycled wool.
Still gotta add shutters and door knob and a few other details. This was inspired by Sally Mavors work.
This one has been sitting in my basket forever. It's the my first try at applique-probably my last.
Just have to make it into something.
Yes I've got houses on my mind. The collage above are all little houses I have sitting around here. I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend. I know we'll be having a great time together!

Home Again

Hi-I'm Home! It's been along trip. We got son into school and everything went well. I'm missing him already. We stopped in Central Illinois and did some geneology stuff-they were so nice down there. It was a fun trip and now back to the real world. Here are some of the old houses in Central Illinois. The neighborhoods are so beautiful.
We saw tons of houses like these. Outside of the town is all corn fields-so peaceful.
Some day-I'd love to move into a house like one of these. I can dream-right?
I have so much to do this week-I've got a list a mile long. I missed looking at everyones blog. I'll slowly get back into the swing of things around here. Happy Monday!
