A Few Things

Here are the little woolies I've been working on. They are little zippered bags and they are so much fun to make. I love coordinating the fabric lining with the pretty wool on the outside.
I think this is the first time ever that I'm kind of ahead of the season. You can tell I'm ready for summer to be about over-I should say I'm really looking forward to fall. I'm getting out my back to school decor this week.
These will be in the shop this week-just wanted to give you a sneak peak. I got a box from my Auntie that was here a few weeks ago. These are 2 of my favorites that she sent. I will frame this and put it into my guest/craftroom.
This is the cutest doll dress. I'll be looking for a vintage baby hanger to hang up this pretty.
Also I thought I'd share with you how I organize my rick rack, bias and seam tapes. My shoe box was overflowing. I used a 12x12 scrapbook project box. I cut foam core to make dividers and glued them in. It ain't pretty but it works.
I sorted them by color, and now if I need one, I can quickly see what I've got in that color. Sure beats rummaging around the shoe box and then dumping it out.
Speaking of trim,I ordered these cute bias tapes with little crocheted edging from Holland Fabric House on Etsy. They are so cute and I can't wait to use them.
I don't know what we'll watch on TV now the Olympics are over. Maybe that will force me into more crafting mode. Y'all have a great week!

  1. The bias tapes are the cutest! Can't wait to see what you can make with it, I love bright colors!

  2. What a great idea for storing your trims. I have mine in an old fishing tackle box. Works in a similar way to your box. I love those little bags.

I think I told you that I discovered that I still have a wool alergy after felting some wool. Would you be interested in any of the wool pieces. I'm willing to put together a box of the wool I have and mail to you. I hate to throw it away. If you can't use it, that won't hurt my feelings.

  3. You are so organized!! I need to get into my box of trims and organize it, too. Right now it's just sorta stuffed into a big hat box. Probably should just have my rickrack in there and separate the other trims into another box. Your little wool zipper pouches are so cute! I especially love the little ladybug one.

  4. Your zippered bags are adorable. I think I need a toadstool one. Let me know when they are in the shop. Your trims and rickrack are pure eye candy!!

  5. What sweet zipper pouches!! Love them! The baby dress and bias tapes are so cute!! Happy creating and have a great week! xo Heather

  6. I love organizational posts. They make me smile! Cute fuzzies! Have a great week! Elizabeth

  7. These zippered bags are absolutely adorable! I love the mushroom and cherry ones the most! So cute!
    Have a great week! :)

  8. Leslie, Those zippered bags are too cute and the fabric that lines them. I can't decide what is my favorite. The should be a great seller for you. What fun to receive a package from your Aunt. Keep on sewing.

  9. Hi Leslie-
Your little woolies are so sweet! I bet they won't be in the shop for long! I'm glad you linked the Holland Fabric House up. I love it! I'm going to have to get some of those trims.
    Hope you're having a great week :)

  10. Hello Leslie!
Your workmanship is so nice...I love your little pockets and the applique is so sweet!
Oh...Just look at all that seam binding...and, you have some wonderful old favorites. I look forward to seeing what you make with it.
The little dress is so darling and would be perfect on a vintage hanger in an arrangement.
I just love using old thrifted plates in wall groupings. They are so unique and inexpensive, too.
Thank you for your friendship and for your many visits and comments on my blog!
    Carolynn xoxo

  12. Your little woolies are just darling, especially with the sweet coordinating fabrics inside! And I agree, TV watching is so boring now that the Olympics are over!

  13. Adorable! And you ARE ahead of the season. I'm still thinking of the summer pillows I wanted to make for myself.

I love your idea for organizing trims. I may have to go out and buy one of those bins. I've got mine in 3 different boxes and they are overflowing.

I thought I had already signed up as a follower, but apparently not. Well, as of today I'm your newest follower and I can see I've got some catching up to do!
