A Little This and A Little That...

I've taken down the Halloween stuff. I haven't put up much fall decor. I did a little leaf garland-got the idea from Susan Branch's Blog. If you haven't been there you are in for a real treat!
I found this little oil painting at an antique store-for some reason it just said "Autumn" to me with those colors.
This is what I spent much of last weekend reading. I really enjoyed it and want to go to England and visit some of those beautiful places.
But for now, I'll be happy looking at my newest thrift store painting. I just loved this vintage Texas landscape. I want to walk down that path and look at those pretty bluebonnets. I just love those blues and greens.
It was signed, and you know me. I had to do a little research. I was able to find out where this artist lived and that the painting was done for her son. Guess what his name was? His name was Les. Les Perryman to be exact. So I had to buy it.
It' s big and the frame is gorgeous. I paid 5$ for it. Steal! I'm going to use it as my inspiration when I redo Son's room-not for awhile yet. So I will just enjoy it leaning against my craft room wall for now.
I'm getting the crafty bug again-I've been working on a few little ornaments and will share soon. What have you been up to? Something fun and fallish I hope.  We're off to some little Texas towns to do some antiquing over the weekend. Have a wonderful weekend.

  4. Beautiful old painting you've found! I can't wait to see what you create out of your craft supplies- I know we're in for a treat! We just got back from a day of antiquing. I didn't buy anything for myself, but treated our oldest daughter for her upcoming Christmas birthday. She found some fun old things for their house. :)

  8. Hi Leslie!
Sorry to be late in commenting --- been overtaken by some cold bug that doesn't want to let go and also David is one cranky pants human being of late --- so majorly pooped out over here. WAH!
Love your fall decor and your bluebell painting! Enjoyed your closet makeover, I knew you guys must be working on a project --- I need to think on how to make our closets more efficient (so I can stuff more stuff in them hahahhaha).
    Happy Sunday!
