Bluebonnet Trail

We took a drive and went on the Bluebonnet Trail last weekend. There's something about seeing a sea of blue wildflowers that makes me so happy.
They are so pretty close-up
and along the edges of fences.
Indian paintbrush also gets in on the action. What a pretty color combination.
Got to see lots of these-

and these cute little babies.
Went for lunch and antiquing in the town of Waxahachie. It has a beautiful historic courthouse on the square, surrounded by antique stores, shops and restaurants.
On our drive in the country I saw this old fixer that needs alot of love. Look at that beautiful brick work and stained glass windows. I'm a sucker for an arched front door. Swoon!
Also saw this house on Main Street in Waxahachie for sale. It's on an acre plus of land. Farmhouse style-right down the street from the historic library and square. I could see myself in this wonderful house. What about you?
Here's the listing if anyone is interested-Listing on Realtor.com  What fun fixer upper project this would be!

We had a fun day and it was nice to get out there in the wonderful weather. We are kind of rained in this week. Hope your week is going great!

    1. It is nice to get away, even just for the day. Wouldn't that fixer be a fun project? (only if money was no object!) Have a great week!

  2. What a lovely sight your Bluebonnets are, Leslie! I just love that shade of blue and planted some perennials in that color last year. I hope they come up soon!

I'm totally charmed by arched front doors, too. Both fabulous old homes that I would love to be able to peek into the windows to see the interiors. The brick home looks like it's in the English countryside.

Thanks so much for sharing your photos with us today!

  3. Your blue bonnets are spectacular and I agree that both those homes are fun to think about restoring. Have you watched the show fixer upper? Wish I had their crew (and money) to help with those kind of projects. It's fun to dream!

  5. What a nice outing, Leslie! Seeing the blue bonnets and Indian paintbrush must've be so gorgeous! Here I've lived in Texas almost 30 years and have never been to Waxahachie, only driven by it.

  6. Hi Leslie! Oh, I do miss the pretty bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes along the highways in Texas. Oh, I love Waxahachie! We used to live in Waco and I would poodle up there sometimes and go antiquing! :) The town square is just so sweet.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

    1. I wasn't sure where you lived when you were in Tx. Waco is getting so much attention from Fixer Upper. I can't wait to go through and check it out again! Yes, Waxahachie is a cute little town!

  8. Love those little blue flowers. I think they are the perfect symbol for spring. And of course, I'm already dreaming of renovating those two houses!
