Vintage Fall Pillow

I've had this tea towel for ages. I think it was in a box of linens from my Mom. It was badly stained on the top portion that is off white. The colors and subject remind me of autumn.
So I decided to make it into a little fall pillow.
I cut around the image and framed the image with off white muslin to make it the right size for a pillow form.
Added the vintage rick rack around the edge.
Here it is in it's new home in the hallway under the Hall of Fame. I think it cozies up the little bench and adds a little touch of autumn.
I've been busy decorating and will have lots to show you in the near future. I've also been busy adding stuff to my Etsy shop. It's still in the 90's here, so kind of a struggle to feel like fall. Hope you are enjoying nice weather. See you next week!

Randomness

I found these cute garden shoes at JoAnns today. I couldn't pass them up at 50 % off. I am a gardener wannabe. One of these days I'll show you beautiful flower photos like some of your blogs. But for now, I'm potting my rosemary plant. I think I'll wear my clogs just to pretend I'm planting a garden full of flowers. Here are the promised afters of my window seat in my bedroom. You've seen me working on the pillows. I have half on one side and half on the other.Pillows made of old chenille, linens and a quilt cutter,
Here are my hankies. They cover the cheapo curtain rod, I had to use one of those rods that curves at the ends, to fit it next to the wall.
I'm also up to my ears in wool. I haven't discussed this with you.
I am a woolaholic. There I said it. My obsession began with a rug hooking class years ago, and I started buying , tearing up, washing and felting old wool clothes. Than it continued on to felting wool sweaters. Now that we've downsized, somethings gotta give.
So I'm making up more pillows out of beautiful wool and felted sweaters that are the most luscious colors. Add a little hand sewing and here you go. I'll be adding these to the shop soon.
The thing about wool is working with it, you feel the lanolin in it. That's why dogs love it too. Anyway, I've gone on enough. Hope you have a wonderful Day!

Pillows And More Pillows

First I had to have some milk and cookies, because everything goes better after that. An oatmeal chocolate chip cookie kind of helps when you're in a slump.Diving in to finishing pillows for my window seat. I hate the part where you have to sew it closed. Yuck!
I tore up a chenille bedspread to make my window seat cover, and am using vintage chenille for some of the small pillows. Also used some vintage linens. I love pom pom fringe!
Here are some more pillows I've made and added to the shop. They are all made from vintage fabric or quilt squares. I think they look nice together.

I hope you make some time for a cold glass of milk and cookies this week. Have a wonderful day!
