Red Polka Dots

Here's what I did with my polka dot oilcloth. Instead of sewing, I just made a seat cushion.
Cut out plywood with a jigsaw, to fit chair seat. Trace 1" foam and cut out with scissors. Glue to wood circle.
Make a sandwich with oilcloth(right side facing down, batting, foam, wood circle.
Staple 4 sides,North, South, East, West, than staple half of each section, then half again, until it's stapled all around.
Repeat 4 times. Screw into antique ice cream chairs from underneath. Here's the before.
And Ta Da-the after. Much better.
I couldn't resist making another mouse-this time turquoise. I decided to gave him a striped tail.
Don't all fashionable mice wear stripes?
I'm joining It's a Very Cherry World for Rednesday. Please check out other wonderful reds.

  8. Hi Leslie!

We've been lost in our genealogy pursuits over here! (We're hoping to make it to a Ancestry.com seminar here in a couple of weeks - hoping they can give us clues on how to find the info we can't find.)

Hope you had a lovely long holiday weekend. We saw "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" and liked it very much and afterwards, had Indian food at our favorite restaurant, we also saw a great photography exhibit and more yummy food - there was a lot of food teehee.

I love your chairs, so darling! Wishing you lots of relaxing time enjoying them.

    Happy Rednesday,

    Sally

  13. Hi Leslie,
We hadn't heard about Ancestry.com doing seminars either - they sent me an email about it and I said YIPPIE, let's go! :) Which reminds me, I had better see if we need tickets YIKES, had forgot about that.
And I forgot to tell you that Charlotte is having a giveaway if you want to run on over there and make a comment - last time I told a friend, they ended up winning, so you're a shoe-in hahahhahha! Too funny!
I'm trying to get a present made for my niece's graduation (and not being very successful at it, judging by the fact that I'm online rather than working on it) and all the other gazillion things I need to do over here and all I want to do is research my Swedish ancestors. ;)

    Happy Thursday!
